I'm Amanda โ Vet Tech of 15 years, owner of Whiskers and Wags. One person, one pet at a time, the way it should be done. Your pet gets the attention they deserve โ not a cage, not a stranger, not a stressful day at "doggy jail." No kennels. No strangers. No stress.
There's a reason most pets come back from kennels stressed, sick, or both. They're locked in unfamiliar runs, with strangers, around dozens of other animals carrying who-knows-what. Whiskers and Wags is the opposite of all of that.
Dogs, cats, reptiles, small pets โ I take them all. With a Vet Tech background, I'm comfortable handling medications, monitoring health, and caring for pets that need a little extra attention.
Daily walks, feedings, playtime, cuddles. I keep their routine intact so they don't even notice you're gone.
Feedings, litter box upkeep, brushing, lap time. Cats are notoriously particular โ I make sure they're calm and loved.
Snakes, lizards, rabbits, hamsters, birds โ I'm comfortable with them all. Specialty care, feeding schedules, habitat checks.
Vet Tech background means I can handle pets needing daily meds, injections, or extra attention for chronic conditions.
I love working with the dogs other sitters won't take. Anxious, standoffish, reactive โ I've handled them all and built trust every time.
If your pet is recovering from surgery or managing illness, you don't have to cancel your trip. I'll provide the care they need.
Most kennels charge by weight, then add fees for "extra time" with employees. I charge the same flat rate whether your pet is 15 lbs or 150 lbs โ and I'm the only person caring for them, period.
I've been a Vet Tech for fifteen years โ currently at Latrobe Animal Clinic. I see what kenneling does to pets every day, and I started Whiskers and Wags because I knew there was a better way: personal, attentive care from one person who actually knows your pet.
What you get when you book with me isn't just pet sitting. You get 15 years of clinical animal experience โ someone who can spot a problem early, administer medications safely, and handle the dogs other sitters refuse to take.
When you're away, I post photos and short videos of your pet so you can see they're happy, healthy, and well cared for. No more wondering how they're doing.
I also post regularly to my Facebook page sharing the pets I'm taking care of, tips for pet parents, and honest takes on the industry. Follow along โ even if you're not booked yet.
Follow on FacebookSome of the pups, kitties, and other critters I've cared for recently. Every one of them got the same one-on-one attention.
Pulled directly from my Facebook page. The dogs (and cats) loved her too โ and they're the toughest critics.
"The dogs loved her! I highly recommend if you need a sitter! She was wonderful to work with and surpassed our expectations โค๏ธ"
"Amanda is a reliable and caring pet sitter. Our cats are happy when we get home and she always checks in to see if anything's needed. Highly recommend her for anyone looking for someone trustworthy."
I cover Latrobe and the surrounding towns. If you're not sure if you're in my range, just ask โ I can usually figure something out.
I'm always available. Reach out to plan dates, talk through your pet's specific needs, or just ask questions. I usually respond same-day.
