Critter Country Animal Farm is a family-run zoo and tourist attraction tucked away in Smithton, PA. Kangaroos, lemurs, big cats, eagle owls, camels — and 300+ more animals you can actually get close to. Built by hand by Laurie and Rob Salvio over two decades. Bring the kids. Bring the camera.
Domestic farm animals, big cats, primates, exotic birds — Critter Country is home to 300+ animals from every corner of the planet. Here's just a few of the regulars you'll meet on a visit.
Critter Country posts daily videos of the animals on Facebook — feedings, births, the goofy stuff that makes the farm worth the drive. Follow along between visits so you don't miss a baby kangaroo or a lemur antic.
Critter Country hosts private parties and events for kids, families, schools, and groups. There's nothing quite like watching a six-year-old's face when they get to feed a kangaroo on their birthday.
Private animal interactions, your own party space at the on-site pavilion. An experience the kids will be talking about for weeks.
Educational tours and hands-on encounters for school groups, scouts, and field trips.
The pavilion has ample table space — bring your own food and decorations, we handle the animals and the memories.
Critter Country Animal Farm has stood as a Smithton institution for over twenty years. What started as a humble farm became, slowly, the menagerie it is today — built by hand by Laurie and Rob Salvio, who've dedicated their lives to the safety, health, and happiness of every animal on the property.
Today the farm is home to over 300 animals — domestic farm animals to exotic big cats — and Laurie and Rob still run the place themselves. Every animal has a story. Every visit has one too.
The whole place runs on the belief that getting close to animals — actually close, hand-feeding-them close — is the kind of experience kids and adults remember forever. That's the whole reason the farm exists.
